This community-led and place-based project that showcases and interviews young Carib-Brits to discover what locations make them feel closest to their Caribbean heritage in public or shared spaces. Each story is realised as a digitally crafted ‘memory image’ that brings the feeling of the place to life through the pairing of portraiture and generative AI.
Funded by the JN Circle UK – Investing in Our Legacy Community Fund, INHERITED LIGHT offers an alternative lens on Caribbean life in Britain—beyond carnival or hardship—centring personal joy, everyday rituals, and the places that inherit Caribbean culture.
